LA Times Readers Rate The Most Overrated Destinations

Readers of the Los Angeles Times ranked their most overrated destinations, and the results amazed us. While Layover Guide agreed with a few of the choices (ahem, Hollywood Walk of Fame) we were shockingly appalled at others (seriously, who could really have been disappointed with the Grand Canyon?!?!?)

While most of us travel for the thrill of the senses and to experience a new piece of the planet, it seems as other have a different set of, sometimes unobtainable standards. You can read the entire list here, and leave your own thoughts and comments.

Here are some of overrated places that we were SHOCKED made the list: Bora Bora, The Grand Canyon, Costa Rica, Iceland, Istanbul… and the last two we can’t even believe… Italy and Paris. Whoever thought that they were overrated should never leave their home.
