Stockholm Layover

Stuck on a layover at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN)? As the largest airport in Sweden and one of the main hubs for Scandinavian Airlines, the airport is located roughly 26 miles from Stockholm which makes the city an accessible destination for on a long layover. For those stuck on a layover inside the airport, there’s plenty to do. The airport offers shopping (listed here by location), and food and dining options (listed here by location). Wireless Internet is offered throughout the terminals and SkyCity and there is also and Internet Café, the Sidewalk Express, located in terminals 2, 4, 5, and SkyCity. For information on payment, or purchasing vouchers, click here.

In addition, the airport offers tons of services including the SATS Health Club on the 5th floor of the Radisson Blu SkyCity Hotel, dry cleaning, Flygfisoren hair dressing services that include everything from eyelash extensions to manicures, an airport chapel, a business center where you can rent a workstation and baby care facilities – all located in SkyCity. A children play area is located at Gate 31 in terminal 4, Lounges are located in Terminal 2 (Menzies) and Terminal 5 (Scandinavian). For more information on the dozens of services, click here. If you arrive at night or are looking for a place to rest, you can relax at the Radisson Blu SkyCity Hotel which is located in the middle of the airport between terminals 4 and 5. In addition, check out The Jumbo Hostel (even if you don’t stay here) where the airport offers a night on board a jumbo jet, while its on the ground. Djurgården is an island in Stockholm which had been royal land dating back to the fifteenth century. With green open spaces, museums, cafe, events, and tourist attractions, the island is great for a walking tour.
