If you’re stuck in the airport during your Guadalajara layover, there’s plenty to do including shopping, restaurants and bars. The airport also has these services: banking and currency exchange, tourist services, a VIP room for American Express cardholders, secure wrap luggage service, and handicap facilities. The Mercado Libertad is Guadalajara’s largest market with over a thousand vendors. Everything from food to hand-made crafts can be found here, as well as manufactured goods. The market is located on Avenida Javier Mina from 6am to 8pm each day.

    GuadalajAra, not Guadalajera.

    If you have a few hours, you could also go to Lake Chapala, which is less than 30 minutes away from the airport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Chapala
