Birmingham stopoverIf you’re stuck in the Birmingham airport during your layover, you’ll find that there’s plenty to do. The airport has restaurants, street and designer shopping, and a number of services including a multi-faith prayer room, Sky Zone which is an interactive kids play area by Gate 54, free WiFi, a conference center, an aircraft viewing area in Car Park 5, and more.

The Birmingham airport has three lounges. The Aspire Lounge is located after World Duty Free, is open from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and costs £18.99 for an adult and £14.99 for a child (2-11). The Emirates Lounge is located after security of gates 40-68 in the North Pier and is exclusive to Emirates Airlines First Class and Business Class passengers or Skywards Gold Members. There is also the No.1 Lounge, located in the Departure Lounge after security, is open from 4:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is accessible to all passengers for a fee of £27.50 per adult and £17.50 per child, for three hours.

    You’re not in bad luck if you get stuck in Birmingham! I was disappointed when our flight got cancelled and we had to stay in Birmingham. But we had the best time!
